Mommy Forgot a Christmas (or two)!
Well, in the hub-bub that is December, Mommy forgot about Sienna's actual first Christmas's at Great Grandma B.'s and Great Grandpa Bud's! They were definitely both excellent Christmas celebrations despite my memory lapse. Sienna had lots of little buddies to play with at Great Grandma B.'s and Maddie especially liked her. When surrounded by the rest of the clan, it is definitely apparent that she is a Bernhardt, all the way! That didn't stop Great Grandpa Bud from wanting to get his hands on her, though. He actually offered to hold her while I got my Christmas dinner. This, from the Grandpa who told me I had rats in my hair and that it was turning purple! I guess he's getting soft in his old age ;)

Happy 4-Month Birthday, Sienna!
Sienna had her 4-month appointment yesterday with Daddy's doctor since Dr. Noll is on maternity leave. Sienna is so smart that when I brought her to the room, laid her on the table to undress her, and the nurse came to measure her head, she burst into tears! It was as if she knew what the nurse was going to do to her later! When Dr. Wesely came in, she quickly got over her tears and put on her regular smiley face. She impressed everyone with her "advanced" skills, as Dr. Wesely called them, such as rolling over both ways and babbling. Sienna has grown a ton, now weighing 13 pounds, 12 ounces and measuring 24 1/2 inches. She's so big and strong now that she can sit in her own booster chair!
Sienna's First Christmas
Sienna was very busy this Christmas, but did much less travelling than last year when she travelled with the family in utero. Her very first Christmas activities were spent at Grandma and Grandpa's in Waseca where she smiled the entire time in her lovely gold Christmas outfit. She got lots of cute new clothes and the musical table that Sadie and Finley so loved. The next day, Sienna travelled back home to Savage to meet Grandma Belva and Grandpa Tim, Uncle Josh and Auntie Jill, Uncle Luke and Auntie Annie. Although she slept through present-opening on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, she did get some adorable gifts - including her first pair of jeggings! On Christmas Day, Sienna met many of her relatives for the first time. On the day after Christmas, Grandma Julie and Jimmy came to see the family. She got lots of cuddling in with Grandma Julie and even met Great Uncle Tab. Through all of the activities, everyone agreed - she is the most pleasant baby ever.

Happy 3-month Birthday, Sienna!
Now that Si-Si is 3-months old, she loves looking at herself in the mirror to see how beautiful and big she has gotten. She also loves relaxing with Daddy after jam sessions. All that singing tuckers her (and Daddy) out. Also with her old age, comes new and exciting toys. She likes to play in her exersaucer even though her feet don't touch the floor. We have to put a blanket around her so she doesn't fall over, but she spins around and plays with all the toys. Although she still likes to sleep in her carseat in Mommy and Daddy's room, Sienna has been sleeping in her crib more and more and will be ready for her own rom any day now. What a big girl!

Sienna's First Thanksgiving
For Sienna's first Thanksgiving, we made the trek to South Dakota for a fabulous day at Grandpa Bud's. Sienna slept almost the entire 4 hour drive, which made for easy travelling. At Grandpa's, she got to meet a whole bunch of new people, including another brand new baby, Brooke (Mommy's cousin, Paul, had a baby a week before Thanksgiving). Sienna looks like a giant next to her new cousin! Everyone loved holding her, including Julian, Briley, Jan, and Melissa. And Grandma Gloria and Grandma Brenda couldn't have had any more fun showing off their new grandbabies! It was a great Thanksgiving - we have a lot to be thankful for!

Sienna Surprised
Here's Sienna, taking her bath. She really loves to soak in the bubbles now that she is big enough to sit in it without her sling. She has moved on from 0-3 month clothes into big girl 3-6 monthers. And, while it doesn't happen regularly, she can now roll over both ways! With Christmas approaching, we have been listening to lots of music and it is very apparent that she loves it. She either gets very calm or starts to sing along. Best of all, she smiles at everyone and has started giggling every once in awhile. It's going to be a very happy holiday season this year!

2-Months Old!
Last week, Sienna had her 2 month appointment with Dr. Noll - the last time we'll see her in awhile since she's due to have her third baby around Thanksgiving. Sienna weighed 11 pounds 4.5 ounces and was 2 feet long. That puts her in the 97th percentile for length-for-age and right above the 50th percentile for weight-for-age. This puts her not even on the chart for weight-for-length, which means we might have a future supermodel on our hands! Sienna also got her first round of shots, which was very sad for Mommy and baby. She was mad at me for at least a half an hour and even nursing didn't make her stop crying.
As a reward for all her trauma, Uncle Josh and Auntie Jill came to visit and met Sienna for the first time over the weekend. We enjoyed the unbelievable November weather and hosted the Krumweide's and Durand's for a portion of a day along with Grandma Belva and Grandpa Tim. The kids explored the playhouse, backyard, and park and it made me sooo thankful for our beautiful property and the fun times my children have ahead of them, growing up in this beautiful place. We enjoyed lots of wonderful family time and had our first fire in the fireplace, which made me even more excited for the future we have here.

Sienna's First Halloween
Sienna celebrated her first Halloween just after her 2-month birthday. She was the cutest little bear to trick-or-treat ever. Unfortunately, her big sister was feeling a little spunky and wouldn't take a picture with her; however, Sadie, who is always camera-ready, jumped right in. At 2-months, Sienna is still as sweet as ever. She loves to smile, she gets calm when you sing to her, and she coos and "talks" to anyone who will listen, including the toy bugs that hang from her car seat.

Sienna's Baptism
Sienna was baptized on Sunday, October 17th, on a beautiful fall day at Lutheran Church of Christ the Redeemer. Sienna smiled and hardly made a peep as she was immersed, dressed in her gown, and introduced to her church family. Godfather Luke actually beat Mom's family to church even though he was in the shower when we left for church! Godmother Annie was able to join in some of our festivities from Spain through the wonderful world of technology. Grandpa Kevin and Uncle Luke got the yard ready for the party while Grandma Brenda and Grandma Julie prepared a fantastic meal of prime rib, potatoes, corn, broccoli and cauliflower, and a grape salad. Steve and Sondra brought bread and a pastry. Grandma Belva and Grandpa Tim brought the DQ ice cream cake. Great Grandma Tud brought flowers from her garden, Great Grandma B. brought baked goodies, and Great Grandma and Grandpa Laven brought Annie- in doll-form, that is. Sienna was pleasant all day long, sleeping most of the time. Finley wouldn't have anything to do with the pictures as she missed out on her nap due to the festivities. We were all very tired after the big day and were in bed by 9. We are blessed beyond words!
